All sarcasm aside for a moment...

One of the challenges of being an Anglo-American household is accommodating each other's cooking. I used to think American cooking was entirely a matter of hot dogs and hamburgers, and Victoria thought British people subsisted entirely on over-cooked vegetables and chips. So we've reached an accommodation now where we live on hamburgers and chips. Not really, but we have both become accustomed to each other's favourite foods, and Victoria now knows how to make a great Shepherd's pie and I think I can barbecue a pretty mean slab of ribs. Not that there isn't still room for disagreement of course - I doubt I'll ever be a fan of sloppy Joes, and Victoria still won't even be in the same room as a kipper. Anyhow, a selection of our favourite recipes are listed here mainly because we keep losing them and also because they may just interest other people as well. Also, I used to be a fan of an on-line cookbook called Old Scrote's Cookbook. This seems to have disappeared some years ago, but I came across an archive of it on an old hard drive of mine so I'm posting it here because I think it had some great recipes in it, and a great attitude to food as well.
